Born in St. Thomas, Jamaica, Desmond worked as a journalist for more than a decade in several countries in the Caribbean at agencies and media houses, including:

In 2017 Desmond joined CBC News (Canada) as a web writer and editor.
In the fall of 2022 Desmond made his authorial debut with his children’s publication, The Boy and the Honeybees. Based on his own experiences as a boy, Desmond shared the incredible beauty and importance of honeybees with children, encouraging reading and learning.
Desmond lives in Toronto, Ontario with his family. He enjoys the stillness of nature through hobbies such as fishing, and of course, caring for the honeybees.
